Anchorage, Alaska: Mount Spurr Volcano has become active.
« on: April 19, 2025, 05:29:37 PM »
I live on the Kenai Peninsula in Nikiski, Alaska and the Mt. Spurr volcano is about 52 miles Northwest of our house. It has increased in activity over the past few months and we are currently under an advisory.
Advisory Statement: Unrest continues at Mount Spurr volcano. Seismicity remains elevated with occasional small volcanic earthquakes detected beneath the volcano over the past day. Satellite and web camera images from the past day showed continued steaming from the summit crater. This type of steaming is typical for Mount Spurr during this current period of unrest.

I have the feeling there has been a marked increase over the globe the last while.
