UPDATE 7/28/2024 - I still like the Weather Windows but has a few issues hopefully can be resolved with future firmware updates. For one thing the 'Hyper-local Forecast' doesn't work as expected. On the Ambient Weather and Amazon website it displays detailed information about the weather, like temperature, clouds, lightning/thunder, etc.  But actually, it will only display basic information like, Sunny, Cloudy, etc. Technical Support said "This currently is not an option with the weather window. I will however bring this to my team as a request" Pretty misleading don't you think??

UPDATE 7/5/2024 - Seems to be getting better after time, but Sleep mode is still flakey. I was able to connect my Foscam FI9900P camera to the Weather Window and looks nice. It's not live streaming data and only Snapshot photos every 4 minutes but looks nice on the display. Ambient Weather support said they would exchange it, but I got used to it and didn't want to be without it for a week or so until I received the replacement. I think future firmware tweaks should resolve most of the issues.

UPDATE 6/29/2024 - Keep dropping a star due to performance issues. The Sleep function is still an issue and will find it hung in a blank screen in the morning. Also, I just noticed that the pressure on the site and Weather Window display are different. Seems to be indication 'Falling' pressure on the Weather Window display all the time, but the site and my other Ambient Weather display are fine. Getting very close to returning it unless the issues are resolved.

So far this is a pretty nice device, although a bit pricey. $125 would be a more reasonable price. The screen is nice and clear and easy to read. It is customizable but would be nice to be able to move the tiles around and have more adjustments. Internet connection was pretty straight forward and connected to my network fine. I upgraded the firmware ok, but the screen hung after it finished, but just a turn on/off fixed it. I’ve seen other reviews complaining about the Wi-Fi, but I haven’t had any issues and it connected perfectly. Only having 2.4Ghz is definitely a CON and at least 2.5/5GHz would be better but works fine and seems fast to me. Another issue is the sleep function doesn’t work well. If you set the sleep and awake time it doesn’t wake up and you have to recycle the power to get it back.
The unit isn't the best and a little pricey, but for me it’s what I needed because my main console was too far from the weather station and now I can view the data from my desk. Overall, I think the Weather Window is pretty nice and would think future firmware updates would make it better and fix any issues.

I've always thought, a simple cheap , android tablet, that does nothing but display a web page to your favorite site, is simpler than the weather display concept. And more usefull , if one wanted to do something else.

But maybe I'm missing the point on the weather display
Equipment: (I no longer list all, lets just say a bunch)
Ambient: (Various)
EcoWitt: (Various)
Personal Sites: Weather Cam

if you wall mount your Weather Window:
one of my 3 Windows is wall mounted using a picture hook: the back is flush with the Sheetrock
Occasionally this Window stops working: the display shows horizontal lines... the back gets quite hot to the touch: my other windows are tabletop with the stand and run cool
I added some adhesive spacers to the back to allow for some ventilation: seems to help

I recently purchased the Ambient Weather Window. A great device for displaying weather information from my weather station. But after learning about the sleep mode experience on this forum, I gave it a try to see if my experience would be different. And to my dismay, I too, is experiencing the non display after sleep mode has discontinued. I reached out to. Ambient tech support and explained my experience. They told me that I will need an updated power adapter and will send to me at no charge. So Ambient is aware of this issue and will send in a more powerful power adapter to address the issue. Stay tuned for the update when adapter is received.

Ambient sent me new power supplies for my Windows: the new ones are white and are wall warts: no USB power option
They are rated 5 volts=2.5A 12.5w with right angle connector
They seem to work fine

After a few days with the new power supply, I've learned that the power supply did not fix the sleep mode situation on my window. So it has been disengaged. I use the dimmer timer in night mode with the lowest setting possible  so that the backlighting is mild while sleeping. And during the morning after 7:30, restore the lighting and brightness in day mode.

So in the last week my weather window is playing up = the dashboard layouts in the settings of the phone app and the awn website no longer shows - it says there is a layout active but it can't be seen - just a white space, no lines even to show the layout - i have rebooted the WW and reset it but still nothing . Also the webcam display is very shaky these last few days - some times it shows and sometimes its blank. if it refreshes it refreshes very slowly - i.e. like loading a graphic via a 56k modem used to do. - Firmware is up to date.
Oh I have also deleted it and reconnected with the app.

Sorry you all are having issues. Obviously Ambient knows of the issues. Do these show the same information that is available off Ambient.net or do they show more detailed station information?

These devices show detailed information from any AWN weather station on the AWN network - i.e. In South Africa I can show a webcam of an AWN connected webcam in Alaska or wherever.

They don't (cannot) show more than what you can see on your AWN dashboard - and from stations in the AWN the data the users have marked public.
It may rather show less.
It's just a display console for AWN with some different design - you will get the same - and probably more - information in the web browser view of your dashboard or published dashboards of other users.
You have to like the design.
You get the data your console has sent to AWN back in a different composition - and, what your console cannot do (but any web browser), the views of other stations in the AWN.
Your console will give you realtime data - from AWN you get a maximum (=shortest) update of one minute, often rather two minutes.
