Topic: Reecom R-1650D- any way to add EAS Event Code?

I have a Reecom R-1650D. It does not have the EAS Event Code SQW (Snow Squall Warning) listed in the list of EAS Events because that Event was created after the radio was produced.

I would like to manually add it to the list of available codes (so that I can disable the siren alert for it). There doesn't seem to be a way to add new alerts to the existing list.

Or is there a way and I'm just missing something? I checked the manual and everything... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just as an offhand comment based on my knowledge of other electronics, this might be so hard coded into the unit, that only Reecom could add it;  it may not be possible.

I did look at this page:

Footnote at the bottom says "Snow Squall Warnings are not conveyed to the EAS."

Just surfing here, don't know if this will help you or not, or if you've already got your question answered.
