Debris filter issues

The debris filter of my vantage vue keeps coming off. Probably birds pluck it. I have given up fitting it again. Will probably clean it more regularly instead. Anyone having similar issues?

Debris filters in anything Davis have been a problem for ever and a day. Vue is a little different to the VP2 as the Vue opening is a lot bigger and without something over the hole can suffer from spoon bounce during very heavy rain.

My friend with la crosse sent his image of rain gauge. Wonder why davis can't do this.

That would be worse than Davis as far as bird crap is concerned and still would not stop things like pine needles etc
