Topic: VP2 Refurb or replace with NOS VP2?

Hi all.  Long time weather enthusiast, first time poster.   I am hoping for some advice.  I have the opportunity to purchase a new in the box (old) 2014 VP2 for $200.00.  I am weighing between sending my 2005 model in for a refurb for $140.00 vs just buying the new (old) one.  I guess what I do not know if what is done on the refurb. Gerry did say that they would upgrade the console hardware since the firmware can't be upgraded.  I am not sure what else gets done.

If the new one is the best option, I thought maybe get the other refurbed and sell it to offset the cost depending on what the used market is like.

Thoughts?
