GOES17 Is Operational and Accessible
« on: February 14, 2019, 08:51:44 AM »
Happy Valentines Day!  I discovered this morning that the operational GOES17 images are now accessible.

The directory structure follows the same pattern as with the GOES16 images, so it was fairly easy to modify that script to display the GOES17 images that are currently available.

Currently only the 'CONUS' and 'FD' images are available while they are testing a northern west coast and a southern west coast subset of images.  They currently lie outside the normal directory structure and haven't been included in the 'wxGOES17-HAniSLoops.zip' available on my web site.

Be forewarned that a number of the specialized bands available via this script aren't working very well, but I included them in order to follow their day/night progress, if any.  There also appears at times to be more artifacts in these images.

Nevertheless, enjoy!

The GOES17 Suite of images is now fully operational.  My GOES17 HAniS Loops script has been updated and is up and running.

The modified script is available on my scripts page.

Let me know if you have any issues with this script.

Jerry,
This is fantastic stuff! Thanks for all you have done!

I am assuming that I want to use the SA if i am not running in the template. IF so, is there a setting to scale for the size of the iframe on my page? The imagaes are too wide for my iframe now..

Jim

My scripts of NESDIS Star's Animated GIF's are available for seven satellite bands for both GOES16 and GOES17.
