Higher Resolution Pressure Data
« on: December 10, 2011, 02:34:42 PM »
When I upload pressure data from my weather station to Wunderground, the pressure reported and shown in the graphs moves in steps of 0.3 or 0.4hPa. My weather station reports the pressure in steps of 0.01hPa (yes, I know at least the last of these digits is meaningless). I think the reason is that Wunderground receives the pressure in inches of mercury to 2 decimal places, and 0.01"Hg is approximately 0.33hPa. Even if I send more digits than two decimal places, Wundeground only seems to recognise two. This makes the graph look steppy, unless the pressure is changing by more than 0.3hPa every 10 minutes.

Does anyone know of a way of making Wunderground accept finer resolution pressure data? Can I get it to accept three or more deciamls in an inches of mercury number? Can I send it the reading in hPa to at least one decimal? Or is there some other way of overcoming this problem?

Thanks - Rowan
