Topic: How to extend the license for the Ambient Weather Network Weather Bridge

Hi guys,

I still have a year left, but I would like to know if I need to start paying the 2-year upgrade for Meteobridge in a year and another fee to post to the AWN - or is the latter perpetual?

Somebody else with Ambient Weather Bridge experience might chime in but for what it is worth from what I have noted is the actual Meteobridge firmware updates are for a 2 year period and that would be through Smartbedded. Not renewing the Smartbedded license simply prevents new updates being applied but the unit will run forever on the latest firmware update version that was up loadable before the Lic expired. I am really not sure if the Smartbedded update license and the Ambient server licence are contained within the Ambient license, somehow I don't believe so?

Ambient license I believe is yearly(?) and more to do with uploading/displaying station data to the Ambient servers.

ambient weather network license und Meteobridge update licenses have no interconnect. As Mattk explained, you pay for different services:
- Meteobridge: to get another 2 years of SW updates
- Ambient: to send and display data to/from their cloud service

I remember that ambient weather network license was intended to be life-long. Has that changed?

AWN license is for free and unlimited in the basic edition for every owner of an Ambient branded console, similar to ecowitt.net for Ecowitt consoles
