Hi guys still looking for someone interested in helping me create a website for my VP2 using Ken’s template. I can provide info to my host or whatever is needed. Please reach out to me if interested. Would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking. Trying to see if the difference is a function of the shield or the sensors

I haven't used the MeteoTracker myself, but it sounds like a pretty neat setup for mobile weather monitoring. Being able to track various meteorological parameters on the go with just a Bluetooth connection to your phone is super convenient.

Davis Instruments Weather Stations / Re: Replacing FARS Fan with Case Fan

Thanks all for the advice and links!

This is the fan I use.  Seal the gaps around the fan.

I didn't seal anything
Granted, my fan is 60CFM, but I didn't seal it. Still sucks hard enough to hold an envelope easily.

That one grabbed my eye as well.  Contrary to my latitude, it gets rather southern soupy here on the Delmarva coast in the summer and the water resistance can't hurt.

Meanwhile, I scared up four case fans and three 12v warts in my "junk" drawers so cost so far is zero :)

I spent several minutes sanding and filing the case fan to get it to fit then got lazy... a quick snip even with the outside of the mounting bolt holes on the bottom end of the fan with diagonal cutters let it slip right in to place.

I didn't seal anything because I have to go back in and remove the nicad batteries and tidy up the wiring and it will hold a tissue up to the screen as is so I may just skip that part for now and see how it goes.

I wonder if it continues the practicality of collocating a Davis sensor or other sensor of known accuracy in the MMTS shield? Any insight on who manufactures that shield? I’ve searched in vain.

Same here, I couldn't find anything on the shield maker, wonder if it wasn't just a one time outside contract due to the fact parts are scarce. I was told this on installation they have to reuse connectors because they are no longer made.

Provided the Nimbus sensor is correct. It's running cooler than the SHT-31 FARS by as much as 2° once we reached into the low 90s one day.  Guess the best way to know for sure would be to open the shield and insert a SHT-31 inside and see how it compares with the nimbus probe.  I did read somewhere when they started replacing the CRS with the MMTS they noticed about a degree cooler on the MMTS.
I can say the airport ASOS is right with the FARS SHT-31 most days for highs. While the MMTS will lag back a bit on some days.

Anyone else see the StarLink Train rising out of the WNW a few minutes ago?

Yet another Davis fan has quit and they are now over $100 including shipping.
LOL! You gotta be kidding me?! Tell me everything is fine.  Must be sold at the grocery store.  Unbelievable.

Here's what I use. Overkill, but works in my climate just fine. i'd shoot for the 25-45 CFM range. Don't go lees than stock.
