ISS battery change ?
« on: October 18, 2021, 10:55:51 AM »

Coming up on 2 years for my wireless VP2 and 6332 anemometer transmitter.
Am located in Buffalo NY and with winter coming am planning fall maintenance.

Question, how long do you guys run the batteries before changing?
Any recommendations on batteries as am thinking of Duracell Lithium CR123A's?

Thanks
Frank

I use those batteries; I usually wait until the console tells me ISS battery low but obviously not a bad idea to do it before that if you want to.  I live in Oklahoma and it took almost five years before my first battery got me that warning.
Current setup: Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus Wireless
Weather radios:
Reecom R-1650
Sangean CL-100
Uniden Home Patrol I

Thanks for info.
Will let it roll one more winter then and worst case will pickup quick if needed.

If you haven't changed them in the past year, I'd change them.   I have three outdoor stations with solar panels and replaced all batteries as I don't want to have to replace them when it is -25 and a strong NW wind.   The inside units tell me when they need to be replaced

Ok. Weatherlink Live shows transmitter battery flag as good, but not sure how the cold will impact for winter 3.
