Hints on a LoRA wheatherstation
« on: February 03, 2025, 07:18:58 AM »
Hello fellows, i'm not new to wheatherstation (i've build one some time ago), but now i need a LoRa wheatherstation, and the prices goes down, so i prefer to buy a new one.

The wheatherstation should be mounted on a beach (i will disassemble it, and protect against salt, water etc with specific products.).
I'm oriented on this one
https://www.nicetyweather.com/products/weather-station-lora-wi-fi-connection-to-weather-underground-temperature-humidity-wind-speed-direction-uv-rainfall-range-4920ft?VariantsId=10668

It has a LoRa transmitter, and can upload data to WUnderground and Wheathercloud.
I am asking if anyone has other products to suggest (1), or know if i can change the "base url" to connect on a different upload service (2) (i wish to enhance it sending message on whatsapp/telegram private groups, programming with python).

I have thought also to "redirect" the dns via the router, to a personal self-hosted local server who emulate those services (and collect data to have a custom view) (3).

And finally, can i replace the three 1.5v batteries with a solar panel with rechargeable batteries attached to it? (4) (..maybe something of ready to use?)

Has someone done this before?
