Hi guys, question can someone provide me with a list of a few weather cameras that can be easily accessed like the live feed on a browser away from my home network?  Not using a phone app or a like a Reolink NVR. Just looking for something easy to access online like a ring camera for example. Thanks!

I don't own one of these, but I think this can do what you are asking.

The camera can upload to ecowitt.net, and you can access your free account  at ecowitt, net with a browser on a PC.

I use a Dahua IPC-HFW3449E-AS-LED (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MDZBNG6) that was recommended by Mike at IPTimelapse. I had been using a Reolink RLC-810A but it didn't perform well at night. You can see my live feed here: https://wxdoc.info/wxcamlive.php and timelapse here: https://wxdoc.info/wxcam-lapse.php. That said, I'm not sure how much you want to invest - the camera is $136, IPTimelapse is $129, and you need a PoE Injector ($25) or PoE Switch ($100). IPTimelapse will feed your YouTube page if you don't have a weather website. Weather Display can also display a weather camera.

Weatherdoc:
Nice site.

Nice timelapse.

Incredible meteor shower time lapses!

And all this from a  4 MP camera?

Just to clarify, if the camera has an address of 192.168.x.x, does it geenerate a web page internally and you can just point a local bowser at it to see the image?
I assume that IPTimelapse needs an IP address?  I have encountered a web cam that seems to hide all that and make it necessary to be on line and go to the manufacturer's web site to see  your images, which sort of defeats some of my use for it.

This would be great to have it available   I have an old Axis camera which is getting a lot of hot spots and poor sensitivity at night and junky resolution, but it is a 'web site' on my network and anyone on the network can see the image and steer and zoom the camera.

The newer stuff doesn't seem to do that as easily.

Thanks for sharing your pics and especially those meteors!  Dale

This database can tell you if there is an IP access to many cameras.

Dale,

Yes, great imagery from a 4MP camera. The Reolink-810a is 4K, which is why I upgraded from a Reolink-510a that was 5MP. But neither was sensitive enough to show the night sky. I was skeptical when Mike recommended the Dahua since it's only 4MP, but since I got it from Amazon, I figured I could return it. But it performs much better than either Reolink camera, at least for my location that has houses with lights on at night within camera view. It also maintains color imagery at night.

You noticed those meteor showers! Yes, impressive that the camera captures them.

All Dahua cameras have a default IP address of 192.168.1.108 (that you can modify) and by entering that into you browser, it opens a dashboard. Here's a screen capture of the main tab with a live view of the camera:

Reolink has an app for PC and mobile phone/tablet where you can view live imagery and, with a microSD card, playback video loops.

IPTimelapse requires the camera's IP address plus username and password. You tell IPTimelapse where to save each image and timelapse file. I store them directly to my Synology NAS that runs my weather website. You can also setup a Live feed to YouTube in IPTimelapse.

My camera is not steerable but it has a fairly wide view. Dahua does make PTZ cameras that are steerable but I don't have any experience with those.
