Topic: Latest firmware Weatherlink LIve (WLL)

Hello, I would like to know if anyone knows what the latest firmware version available for WLL is and if it is possible to update the WLL in some way, my firmware version is from November 5, 2021.

As far as I know, there is no public listing of 6100 firmware updates. So it's difficult to check unless someone else can confirm a newer firmware date. FWIW mine says Nov 5th 2021. But this may not be the latest version.

The only method** I know for the user to update the firmware is to force the WLL to reboot. As the unit reboots it is supposed to check if newer firmware is available and download it. But I've never been able to confirm this personally. And the only way to force a reboot is to fully power down the WLL (ie remove both mains power and a battery) for a minute or so and then restore the power. But obviously you risk losing data while performing the reboot.

** I believe that Davis Support can push an update to a specific WLL device but they are usually reluctant to do this unless there is some confirmed issue to fix.

5th Nov 2021 is the latest afaik. The software developer who was looking after the WLL left Davis some time ago and it appears there has been no development of it since then.

Howdy,

I was having issues with my WLL a couple years ago (It wouldn't reset "Storm Total" rain amounts).  I checked online for a way to update the WLL firmware and found nothing.  I finally reached out to the Davis Instruments help people and they pushed an update that fixed it.  My WeatherLink Live now reports:

It's working fine now, so I haven't been in a big rush to update it again.

That said, it would be nice if there was a cheat-sheet on the Davis WLL website listing what the versions of firmware are and what the differences are between versions (fixes, improvements, deletions) and a way to intentionally update it.

To the best of my knowledge, such firmware information for WLL is not publicly available - otherwise I would include it at eg: https://www.manula.com/manuals/pws/davis-kb/1/en/topic/weatherlink-live .

The only ways I know of updating WLL firmware are the automatic bulk update (which hardly ever seems to happen) or a request to Davis support to push an update to your individual unit, ie exactly as you have done.
