Hi Chuck,

Trying with VPSE, in the short time that it has been running, it appears to be working - just waiting for the first hang  :-)

However, I am seeing lots of VVP Warnings as shown below - do you get these Warnings too?

regards
Dave

Yes I get those type of errors. Never have had any issues with those type of errors.

Good morning,
I installed the new version VSPE 1.5.1.191, but I have problems with weatherlink 6.0.5 that goes into error, I use Weather Display, WeatherLink and CumuluxMX, can you tell me how you configured VSPE to make everything work?
Thanks

Chuck is the VSPE expert, I am just trying out, but you need to create Virtual Serial Port pairs. I use 1/11, 2/12, 3/13 and 4/14. The low number is the serial port used in the Weather program and the high number is the VSP added in VVPro.

What "errors" are you seeing?

regards
Dave

That is? I simply use the splitter function, I tell it that the main port is COM3 and it creates the other ports com 5/6/7 for example and I start it, it doesn't work like that?
Maybe in the new version it's a little different?

"Splitting" shares a physical COM port with a number of virtual applications.

"Pairing" creates pairs of virtual ports. My PC does not even have a physical com port.

I use Virtual Vantage Pro and set up the weather programs to talk to the VSPE ports that are linked to the virtual ports referenced in the weather programs, e.g., Weatherlink is configured to use Virtual Port COM1: and VVP has a Virtual Console COM port configured for Weatherlink on COM port 11

The same configuration worked in the pervious version of VSPE too. (I have not tried the splitting mechanism.)

ok, my mini-pc doesn't have a com port either but the davis station is connected via USB which then converts it to com. So should I use the "Pairing" method? Maybe that's why it doesn't work well?

I'm not an expert on this, so can't tell you what you "should" use, but I think that the pairing method is at least worth a try. I have a wireless logger, so the Davis connection to VVP is TCP/IP, but I think that it should work as well with a physical serial/USB connection to the Davis and the virtual serial ports configured as I described

I use the default ports 6/16, 7/17, 8/18, 9/19 in VSPE. Make sure you use the lower number such as 6, 7 etc on your weather software. I am running the latest VSPE and have no issues.

Ok, I'm having problems with WeatherLink as it does not download data if connected with VSPE, it does not update the log, in the com port settings how did you set? (like CTS, DCD, DSR parameters) while if I connect directly to the main port it downloads the data and saves it in the log. Thanks

You have not specifically mentioned it, but are you using Virtual Vantage Pro ?

Can you upload screen shots of the VVP Communications Settings screen and the VSPE status screen.

I have not made any changes to any of the Virtual COM port handshaking signals

Now everything seems to work fine, I set the lower com ports (6,7,8) instead of the higher ones, maybe that was the problem?! Thanks
