Meteobridge to weatherlink via TCP/IP
« on: August 15, 2019, 10:33:25 PM »
I installed bootcamp on my old iMac and installed WeatherLink.

I was able to get the ip address of my meteobridge and set that as the remote ip address for the communications port. I turned on network upload and entered my weatherlink.com information and it has been working great for the past few days, but now it seems it can not longer access my meteobridge. I get an error saying, "Cannot establish connection since port is already in use. Please disconnect the device and connect it again."

I have tried rebooting my meteobridge, but this error keeps appearing. I don't know how this port is already in use if this has been working fine for the past few days. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

It could be in the windows side that is unable to communicate. Has the windows machine done updates recently? Any firewall or AV installed?

I think I may have figured out my problem. Somehow, I had two WeatherLink windows open trying to connect to my meteobridge using the same port. After closing one of the windows, WeatherLink is able to communicate with my meteobridge and download the data.

I get the data flowing from my meteobridge but 30 minutes later it stops sending the data then I have to reboot again.. Where can I stop this from happening....Is there a method to this madness...Sometimes it would be fine all night but by 2am or 6am,,it would stop sending data?? Is there a preferenced IP address to use...Something I need to change in the meteobridge settings?? Something I need to click off??? I really could use the help here..Email me at goedeckephotography@gmail.com
Thank you

More details, some queries to start

What specifically is the Meteobridge model?
What is the weather station?
How is the MB connected to the sensor data?
Where is the MB sending data to?

Another user reported that he experienced TCP/IP connection problems similar to yours. He migrated back to Meteobridge 5.9 and that did cure it. I still do not understand what made the new versions less tolerant to TCP/IP hickups, but when you give it a try and report, it might help to get this issue better understood.

On MB go to System>Administration tab
In the top Maintenance box under the Version Control: drop down select 'stick to version 5.9' then [Reboot]

If you are using the VM version of Meteobridge, which was released first time with version 6.0, you can't go to 5.9 as it does not exist for your platform. Anyway, I will work on it to have a fix for it with the current versions.

Just checking code it looks like it needs to go back to 5.8 to have the old tcp/ip code running. I do not recommend to go back unless you are really stuck hard by this. As said, I am working onthe topic.
