Seems like if they have $3.1 million in restitution in their pockets to pay back they really did not need the insurance payment at all.   :roll:

On the other hand they were not the sharpest shovels on the ranch anyway thinking in this day and age no one would notice rain sensors with no output despite the radar returns begging to differ.  More proof that you don't have to be smart to have deep pockets.  Just luck and a wealthy ancestor.   ;)

Not to defend them, but radar indicated precipitation is often much more than recorded at the surface here due to virga.  Often radar will indicate light precipitation and one can go outside and look up and see it "up there" but not "down here".
