What lense to get for 1/3" cctv cam and PCMCIA capture cards
« on: March 02, 2013, 07:57:23 PM »
I have a Rainbow CLD54D 1/3" color CCD camera. It currently has a L3.3-8mm 1-1.4 lense on it. I'm going to mount this camera in a weatherproof camera enclosure. Since it will be running in different lighting conditions I'm going to have to get a lense with DC auto iris, but I'm not sure what lense, focal length to get. I'd like a somewhat wide angle view.

What focal length and such should I look for in a lense?

BTW, the camera is going into a USB video capture card and the image isn't as sharp as I'd like but that's due to the USB capture card. I'm not sure if getting a PCMCIA capture card (maybe an old tv tuner with composite in) would improve the image any.
