Nice site, Don.  Like the layout - I'll be travelling thru Minden next month on way to Tahoe.  I'll be sure to keep an eye on your site.

Thanks Steve!

If you have a 2-meter rig in your car, try the Siera Intermountain Emergency Radio Association (SIERA) club repeater on 147.330 +, PL 123.0. There is also a 440 repeater on 443.750 +, PL 123.0. Both are open repeaters. We also have a website, http://www.siera-amateur-radio.org (I'm the webmaster for it).

Will do, Don.  I think i've been on the UHF one before.  What is the coverage like?  I'll be driving up from June Lake to Tahoe via 395.  Depending on the time of day, I usually take a rest stop at the Minden Airport to stretch my legs.

W3DRM:
The 2-meter transmitter is located on Monitor Pass so should have good coverage quite a way south of Topaz Lake. Not sure how far but from Topaz all the way into the Carson Valley coverage is solid. The UHF repeater is strictly for the valley. Not much coverage beyond that although it may reach into South Lake Tahoe.

The Tahoe Amateur Radio Club (TARA) also has a repeater on 147.240 + PL 123.0. Their website is http://tahoeamateurradio.com.
