Title: Lufft station questions
Post by: METARMan on January 27, 2018, 07:42:06 PM
How do Lufft stations transmit and display their data?

https://www.lufft.com/products/compact-weather-sensors-293/

I would like to get my village to commit to one of these units, but I don't understand how they can display or transmit their data online.  It doesn't seem as obvious as other weather stations out there.

Any help?

In the process at looking at these myself. Data can be transmitted via different protocols UMB-Binary, UMB-ASVII, SDI12 & MODBUS which the more professional data loggers can handle. You need to realize this type of system is more than the typical plug & play consumer types.

Having said that you will find MeteoBridge supports some Lufft models which basically then allows the Lufft data to be handled by MB the same as MB output of all other supported stations.

All of that sounds complicated.  The Lufft sensor is really impressive, but I'm not sure it's right for me.   I'd like something maybe a bit nicer than a Davis, but I'm not sure where to turn.  The lightning detecting and preci sensors on the Lufft are attractive.
