Buoy data image & overlay size
« on: February 22, 2014, 11:23:50 AM »
Hi All

Me again!

Trying to get the Buoy data page added to my site. seem to have an issue in getting it to display correctly (image too large). I notice that there is a smaller United_kingdom image that I stumbled accross, this makes it the correct size but throws the overlay of the buoy information out. I am using the 706 x 470 pixels size. I have used the "contributed" files in order to get me up and running this far !

Here is the site
http://www.stnichweather.co.uk/

Here is mybuoycustom file

I have tried various settings in the mybuoy custom text file but in all honesty not sure what I am doing  #-o

Help as always very much appreciated
Steve

Ian

Thanks for mail but I think the settings that I need to change are in the "my custom buoy .txt " file.

This is where you set the overlay to map image ( I think)

If you take a look at my Buoy page you will see that the image is far too big for where I am trying to locate it.
I want to reduce image size but think this affects overlay of buoy information

Hi Steve,

I did what you want to do, reduced the image then in the 'my buoy -UK.txt' file which I sent to you, made to required adjustments to make it fit.

It did take a while to get it how you like it, but that's part of the fun lol

I don't seem to have your mybuoy custom text file in the e mail. Did you attach it or has it gone AWOL

Cheers

Hi Steve,

I've attached the one I use here, the way to adjust the labels so they align is:

In the example below the first number 440 - reducing this number moves the label to the LEFT, increasing the number moves it to the RIGHT on the map.

The last number 333 - reducing this number moves the label UP, increasing this number moves it DOWN on the map.

62142|North Sea|440,292,463,333

Thanks Ian

For some reason the my custom text did not get forwarded to my other e. Ail account but the other files did!

I have managed to get it working but see there are a lot of buoys in the list with no data to report. I take it it's just a case of deleting them from the custom text file ?

Thanks for your help, it's appreciated

Check out the site, you'll see what I mean

Cheers
Steve
