Noob Help with Meteobridge Templates
« on: May 05, 2025, 03:14:35 PM »
Thanks in advance for all helpful replies. Rather than digging into details and forcing you down a rabbit hole, I will describe my problem from a macro "operational" perspective.  I will turn to the Meteobridge support forum if needed, but wanted to try here first, as the crowd is more user-friendly  [tup]

Hardware:  Host -  Meteobridge running on a Proxmox Virtual machine, adequate memory, all services running
Weather Station Primary:  Davis VP2 connected to a Davis WLL, connected to Meteobridge via IP
Station 1:  Davis Airlink (AQI) connected to Meteobridge via IP
Station 2:  Ecowitt GW2000 Hub (selected as model GW3000)  connected to Meteobridge via IP

Software:     Meteobridge 6.1 (Apr 30 2025, build 1624), FW 1.0   (Meteobridge VM Version - Active License)

Active Sensors:    Davis:  Typical ISS VP2 Suite, Typical Airlink AQI Suite
Ecowitt: Lightning Sensor WH57B, Soil Sensor WN34BS
Mappings:  All Mappings appear to work, live data from all sensors is present

Here is where my dumb Noob questions begin  :     I have the basic Weather34 and basic Aurora Templates working, but the basic templates don't meet my needs.  The lightning sensor module only has "total strikes," and the Soil Temperature Module is non-existent.  Surely there are more templates available, but I can't seem to get them loaded for use.   I downloaded the "update" files, unzipped them, and used SCP to upload them to the "Templates" directory, but no additional templates are available.    I realize the answer is probably right in front of me, but at this point, I can't see the elephant in the room. Can someone illuminate how to add/modify templates?  If logs or screenshots are needed, please let me know and I will upload ASAP.      I really appreciate any help you can provide.  Brian (SeaBass)

Have you checked out the "user-friendly"  [tup] Meteobridge Aurora (cloud version replacement of Weather34) just released with Meteobridge version 6.2? New soil stuff included.

Matt:

I tried both Weather34 and Aurora templates that appear on the configuration page. While the Aurora does look better, what I need is the ability to switch to user-created templates or the ability to modify and save my own templates.   Surely there must be a way to modify or switch templates, I saw several other members who have multiple template buttons that appear on their dashboard?

I am a little miffed at Meteobridge. I paid the $70, thinking that perhaps the templates are locked in the free version, but the licensed version didn't add the needed functionality.

Anyone else?  Please?

Matt:

Sorry, I thought you meant the regular Aurora template. This new version was just released today.  I am rebooting my Proxmox VM for the update and taking a look now.

Matt: WOW!!! The new release is like night and day. It offers multiple user-configurable templates and color schemes, on-the-fly updates, and it even supports the danged Apple Watch!

They must have been waiting for my $70 to release the new version  \:D/  Thanks for the tip!
