I live in the moutains of north Georgia. We have called this a temperate rain forest averaging 80-100 inches of rain per year. About 2 weeks ago i took a lightning strike and damaged about $9000 of ham radio gear. Fortunately, it was all insured and most of it is repaired and back in place. Weird things went out, the power cube on the internet wifi, but not the wifi box. The video cable between the weather computer and the monitor, but both the computer and the monitor were fine.
Night before last Yogi the bear decided to attack my yard fence and took down about 15 feet of it. He also attacked and ate a bird feeder that's really neat in that it has a camera. I have been able to reassemble the feeder and its ok.
The next rain system moved in and i have had 10.04 inches of rain in 26 hours. 54 lightning strikes since midnight. The power has been out for about 4 hours. One cannot live out here in the forest without a generator, so we have been on the generator now for that period of time.
Its an adventrure.
