Topic: Tsunami Warning - Western California Coast

A Magnitude 7.3 Earthquake occurred 80 miles off the west pacific coast, and this has prompted a Tsunami wave for the Northern/Central California coast, and the southwestern Oregon Coast.

It's been cancelled now, only small waves were recorded.

It was quite a surprise.. first the SMS alert message, then the EMS messages on TV.

Even so, we're well inland of the southern SF Bay at 384ft, so damage here is VERY unlikely

The quake apparently had little vertical motion (was mostly strike-slip horizontal) so no tsunami was seen at closest shoreline so the overall alerts were cancelled.
