New Davis Vantage Pro2 Station in Weatherford, TX
« on: June 13, 2024, 08:14:03 PM »
Here is a pic of my new station. Been up about three weeks. Have very limited siting options, as I live in a HOA. I have been surprised at how well the temperature, humidity, etc. have done given the mounting near a wood fence. The sun shines on the other side of the fence, so I put the green foam insulation square on my side to mitigate some of the radiation. The anemometer is at 10 feet agl (HOA allowance for pole-mounted birdhouses). That is not ideal, however, I am very happy with the results so far.

Feed data to wunderground or any other data services? I have a daughter within 8 miles of your location.

Weather Underground https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KTXWEATH676

A word of caution about Weather Underground. The Wundermap also has someone else's station mistakenly located at our location. If you click on the map, you never know which station it will serve up. However, the link above works fine.

You can’t go wrong with a Davis weather station. Congratulations !
Actually surprised HOA let you mount on fence
Looks good. If your neighbor complains, you could go with a Davis tripod.
