The snow drought ends
« on: January 17, 2024, 08:44:14 AM »
After two years without measurable snow in the northern Virginia area, we finally broke the snow drought with a fresh 4.5" (11.43 cm) on 16 January. This morning's low temperature was 7.7F (-13.5C) and we will stay below freezing until tomorrow afternoon, so it will take a while for my old VP2 to thaw.

I used to live in Maryland, and I have heard about the snow drought. I measured about 5 inches on the snow stick in Hillcrest Heights on January 16th.
