Rain Gauge Problem with PM2.5 Sensor location???
« on: March 08, 2020, 06:02:50 PM »
Do you think I need to move the PM2.5 air quality sensor down a bit? I just relocated it here and now I'm wondering if rain splatter can jump back into the Stratus rain gauge???

Probably no more rain would jump into the rain gauge from where the sensor is located, than the rain that would splatter in the top of the funnel on the Stratus and jump out of the rain gauge.

I don't think there would be any significant, or even noticeable, difference even in heavy rain.

I'm using an Ecowitt WH41 which has a Honeywell HPM series PM2.5 sensor.

Thank you. That's good information.

We did some testing of the HPM and several other laser PM modules. I think we still have a few of the HPM kicking around. The mechanical design and construction was much better than the Plantower modules.
