Not quite weather I guess, but I have a niece who's "vacationing" on the Big Island--she's actually backpacking around the Islands in general. She spoke with my brother at 11AM HI time on Saturday, and was in the town of Waipio, having come out of the valley after hiking for a couple of days. Most likely staying in a motel for a day or two for some "civilization"... and sleeping when it hit...
No communications yet today--my brother sent a text message, but even though news stories last night said communications were largely intact, I'd suspect that things are a bit worse on the Big Island compared to the other islands.
Hopefully she and her friend took some pictures... if possible, I'll post first hand experiences...
