Good inexpensive idea to protect the kids during severe weather.  I think every home should have a radio as well.

Good post mhweather and good article. It's heart warming to know the government is looking after our kids in this manner.

A friend of mine lives in south western MO and I think I'm gonna get her a decent one as a gift, she's bull headed and would never spend the money to get one for herself! I can remember when I visited her once standing on her front porch watching as a tornado passed by, not far off, trees bent nearly parrallel with the ground and rain blowing left then right, was quite a sight.
