Boltek Antenna Housing UK (home made)
« on: June 04, 2013, 03:54:56 PM »
Hi all.

On the back of this excellent thread:-

 http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=4629.0

I decided to gather the parts and have a go, unfortunatly in the UK, Schedule 40 fitting are really expensive, for example a 3" to 1 1/2" socket reducer is $36!!, anyway, after searching on google found and company who can provide all the parts for less than £16 (excluding carrage and VAT), I bought a few extra bit and the overall total was £31.66.

The company is Hendeson Plastics (www.hendersons.co.uk), parts I used were:-

http://www.hendersons.co.uk/pipework2/metric_pipe_index.html

ALL PARTS ARE IN GREY

110592     PVC cap 75mm
110722     PVC reducing socket 90/75 x 63mm
110747     PVC reducing bush 63 x 40mm
309040/M Metric inducstrial pressure pipe 40mm

What is missing from the list is a small section of 75mm pipe which acts as a joining peice for the cap, the company were kind enough to give me this, I do have a small off-cut should anyone need it, otherwise they sell pipe by the metre.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that link.

I'm also in the UK and building a Blitzortung unit at the moment. I can see some of those pipe parts being very useful.
