weatherlink api 2 rain different from web page
« on: April 03, 2023, 12:35:50 AM »
I am using the weatherlink v2 api to download historic data (in json format)
I find that the total of the rainfall_mm for a month is less than that reported by the totalling of the precipitation "equivalent water" value on the monthly summary page.
Has anyone else observed this? I'm not missing any iterations though the data set, and I have'nt mixed up inches with mm

Different by how much?

For example on 21 March, 15mm rain is reported in the Monthly Summary whereas the historic data for that day totals to 11.2mm

There's no general discrepancy that I'm aware of. Just checking our March totals I see 95.6mm (API v2) vs 95.4 (wl.com monthly report). That single tip (0.2mm) difference is probably just down to a slight time difference or handling of the midnight record (ie which day do you count it in?). Not enough of a difference for me to spend time digging into.
