What settings are you using for the email setup?

Does your smtp server use SSL?  It looks as if maybe you're trying it that way but the server doesn't like it.

NWS has a frost advisory tonight  for my county. I only have a 2 email alarms setup now. (WRNCTP + WSWCTP)
So I have to add a product (frost warning) and county code to the WxMesg setup?
Reason I ask, didn't see frost warning in the product code list. Probably missed it
Thanks in advance.

Frost warning is likely part of a WSW (Winter weather message) and is a VTEC product.  So you could select this (WSW) for your WFO, then use select VTEC and choose frost advisory/warning setup.

EDIT:  It might also be part of a NPW message (Non-precip-warning).

Ok, I added NPW. If I refresh the WxMessage Map will it show up there also, are they two independent products?
ok, you have to assign client/map. Obviously I have some reading to do.

These are all the products and how I set them up to use the WXMap program.  This is how it looks in the server setup grid.

Then you can choose your state/and county.

In this case though, all those entries are specifically for the map, so I don't choose any states/counties/zones and send it to the map client (note: if you use WXLoader, that acts as a map client as well).

Suggestions needed for truncating message length for text messaging. I think Verizon is 160 character limit.
Email not issue, working fine.

Search the Yahoo group for 'shortcode'; I believe you'll find some suggestions in there.

Question of the day. The fax option requires a modem?
Will try to dig up a USB modem for testing.

A little late, but correct.  If you use some sort of email option to do faxes (I know some use a gateway) then you'd need to set that up appropriately.

I've been using Weather Message for over two years now, and recently went to a new email server and so, changed the password.  Now, I am getting this when I test:
Starting Test ... (server name)
--- Connecting to mail server.
Remote host connection complete. Status 0 - OK
--- Connected.
-~~ Starting secure channel handshake.
-~~ Sending 131 bytes of handshake data.
-~~ Receiving 179 bytes of handshake data.
SSL connection broken. Status 276 - Error during handshake: The token supplied to the function is invalid (0x80090308)
Remote host disconnected. Status 276 - Error during handshake: The token supplied to the function is invalid (0x80090308)
SMTP Error: 162 Error communicating with server.
SMTP Error: 162 Error communicating with server.

Error: 276 - Error during handshake: The token supplied to the function is invalid (0x80090308)
Email Test Failed....

Since SSL is deprecated, I use Auto for the SSL and 587 for the SMTP port.  I keep getting this error and the email logs say they can't connect to the server.  My own email is working to the email server.  Thank you for any help.
