The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added three new Event Codes to the Emergency Alert System (EAS) Rules for the 2017 hurricane season.
NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards (NWR) is the primary means for NWS alerts to activate the EAS. The new rules adopt the following weather new Event Codes for both EAS and NWR. More information is available on the NWS Web site.
