Weather underground not showing correct amount of rain
« on: July 01, 2021, 03:34:41 AM »
The in house display and Weathercloud are right now showing 3.2mm of rain. Weather underground is showing 3.05, Why? Is it a metric conversion mistake, some sort of rounding error?

Or is weather Underground just not working very well. It seems to only just be usable and of any value. A lot of it seems to not work well, or at all..

My experience ever since Weather.com bought WU is WU is now basically worthless and very unreliable.

I quit using that service when weather.com got hold of them as I in no way will ever support Weather.com.

If you upload in inches, then this will happen:
3.2mm x 2.54 (convert to inches) = 1.259842519685039‬

But you probably transmit: 1.2 inches.

Then 1.2 x 2.54 = 3.048 mm
Rounded, that would then be 2.05mm

Thats what you get with this silly English system :)

I noticed this too, it's a double metric conversion mistake becase the upload is in Imperial Units.

AFAIK upload is only in Imperial Units.
