Title: [RESOLVED] WD and Envoy with a dead Baro sensor
Post by: Bashy on September 01, 2021, 06:16:15 AM
Hi Brian, is there a way to force WD to carry on as normal if the Envoy Barometer dies?

I got a warning from AWEKAS the other day saying the baro was sensor was turned off at their end, so i went to check WD and yep, it had flatlined and since January if you can believe that lol, anyway i tried to restart WD and it would load but wouldnt load the data, which is very weird because its been rebooting twice a week for 3 years straight and working fine.

I have had to use the VP console as a temp setup because i really do not want it in the lean too as it gets too cold in there during winter.

I am trying to get hold of another Envoy but I would have liked to carry on using the one i have in the interim but i cannot find a way to disable the Baro sensor in WD?
I have added the debug if that helps, it seems that the baro is a kill all...

As a side note, I still have my WMR968, can I use the just baro from that?

Thanks

EDIT: Davis support got it going again, see here (https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=42651.msg435253#msg435253)

you can set WD to use the barometer reading from a downloading nearby airport metar
but that only applies to live data

Thanks ever so much Brian, totally forgot about being able to do that.
Thankfully Davis support got back during the night and the Baro is working again :)

Usually when we see this, it is caused by the elevation calculation creating an error. To fix this, try setting the elevation to 0.
Then test again. If you start seeing the Barometer, you can then set the elevation back to a valid value.

Damn it, spoke too soon, whilst it woke up the baro, its not moving any, so I am now using the local metar, shame its hourly. Thanks again
