Someone over at AmericanWx noted the NWS radar outage was caused by the (now) rogue Galaxy XV satellite drifting into the path of the NWS satellite, causing a LOS to ground stations......G-XV was "zapped" last April during a solar storm....and has been drifting in and out of the path of other satellites ever since.....
Over 100 satellites that have failed or no longer in use still floating up there according to this article:http://www.space.com/news/zombie-satellite-interference-threat-101015.htmlScrap iron collectors should be working on building a space ship garbage truck anytime now.

What was the name of the TV show where someone had built his own spaceship to do something similar to this? Possibly in the '70s? Collecting stuff from the moon?

Could it be something like "Salvage 1"?? That was in 1979. I found that from a search but only have a very vague recollection of the show itself.
