Some Nerw pics and a question
« on: June 05, 2009, 05:36:03 PM »
So i added 2ft or so to the height of my Anemometer(See link below). I just have one question, i mounted my anemometer on a pole and ran the cable down the pole(as i have for  a year) im now wondering if i should drill a hole in the pole and run the cable inside the pole to protect it. Should i do this?

If the anemometer mast/pole is open and accessible at both ends, can you unplug one end of the cable and feed it through? If the pole is grounded you may gain electrostatic protection from the wind by running the cable inside.

I think Dan has a point .

BUT it would be great to get it out of the weather
and it will have a better cosmetic look.
