Webcam Software
« on: May 28, 2022, 03:17:41 PM »
Hi ,

What software to use to steam webcam to website. Tried Blue Iris and wasted $69. BI will not even load. Works for a week. What do you recommend?

Thanks,
Ryan

I use IP Timelapse and send a picture to my website every 2 minutes.  I think a few others around here have indicated they use this one.

I too use IPT to upload every 3 min to web site.  I use Blue Iris as security software.  I have tried using BI for video on web site but was not happy with configurations.  BI is a resource hog for sure; I believe it is best run on its own computer.  At least that is how I have had the best success with it.  Very happy with IPT – program and support  [tup]

I have IPT capturing images for my security cameras at home. The stream on Blue Iris sucks. Here is a link to my ddns http://cospringsweather.ddns.net:81/mjpg/Cam1/video.mjpg  The stream is not as smooth as I would like it for $69. Very disappointed.

Hey Ryan, like I indicated I did not have great success with live streaming BI.  Have you looked at the wiki on https://ipcamtalk.com/  there is good info on configuration of the operating system to maximize performance.  I do like BI for security activation/recording.

I know some people use WebCam7 (now Netcam Studio I think) for live streaming.  I tried this software and could never get it to run/operate on any of my computers, tried several different ones.  I gave up on this software.

I use IPTimelapse for capturing and processing images and video. For my live feed I use YouTube. I wrote a topic on how I setup my webcam here:

Here's links to my still image (update every 10 seconds), Live, Timelapse, and Archive (for May 2022):

I have used Webcam7 in the past with Hikvision. I have switch to Amcrest cameras and Webcm 7 does not support Amcrest.

Ryan,
I have been using Netcam Studio for several years with Sharx Cameras and it works great. A year or so ago I secured my site and Netcam Studio handled that too. Although that was a challenge.

Tried BI and that was a mistake.

Good luck,

Forgot to mention that you need to use Netcam Studio software and not Webcam 7. Even though it’s the same company.
