What is the deal with these shield models?
« on: October 01, 2021, 04:40:31 AM »
So you have the R.M. Young 41003: https://www.youngusa.com/product/multi-plate-radiation-shield/

Then there is the Rotronic AC1000: https://www.rotronic.com/en/ac1000

They look very similar, though there are differences between them, (9 vs 10 plates for example). But the bracket looks suspiciously similar.

Then you have this model at Seeedstudio: https://www.seeedstudio.com/Solar-Radiation-Shield-for-Outdoor-Sensor-Protection-A10-p-4601.html

Totally different pricing, but once again they look alike and the bracket is the same.

And how about this? -> https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32828473654.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.4e882e0eg07DZZ

Also very similar, same bracket.

Aside from the Rotronic (with  9 in stead of 10 plates), are these clones? If so, would you expect one of the clones to perform similarly?

Probably manufacturers using the same item from Young and rebranding them. That last one you posted however is probably a copied replica or mix and match of Young and their stuff, as noted with the different nuts on the bottom.
