What manually .. every day? And that's all you have to show for it, what do they get out of it?

Wow, 4,779 that is great =D> \:D/ =D>   I received mine with 2,291 continuous observations (including a few multi-day reports for the period we were away from home).

They get to share it with many authorities... like conservation and environmental authorities, and agricultural organizations.  For example last year I was contacted and interviewed by our Province's environmental agency who were referred to me by CoCoRaHS in their investigation of a contaminant spill in the nearby Thames River and wanted to get accurate manual rainfall for some specific days.  The company that caused the spill was using the extreme weather/rainfall excuse.  In this case my 24-hour CoCoRaHS records matched closely to my Davis VP2/Cumulus records which has the 5-min interval log.

Enjoy,
Paul
