Rain gauge maintenance at high altitude
« on: December 17, 2014, 11:58:19 AM »
Here is a youtube video of a modification i did to my rain gauge to help protect it from UV and heat at high altitude. We'll see if it makes it through the winter!

Looks great! I know what UV can do in the Southwest. When we lived in Chihuahua, MX I bought an oscillating sprinkler that had yellow plastic. Within two weeks it was turning white.

The UV is tough on plastic car parts, as you well know. Headlights, dash pads, etc.

Good luck on the CoCoRaHS mod, I think that it will be effective.

Beautiful country around Taos. We visited there in 2005, mostly to see the Pueblo.
