I see that the "Users Online" now includes Spiders and data centers like Yahoo and Google.
Yes, I've enabled the Spider tracking in the forum so they now show up in the Users Online list. Nice to see the Google/Yahoo!/MSN indexing taking place -- that's why our forum can be found so easily via their searches.
You can collapse the header and the stuff will vanish .. that's likely what you did
Nuh-Uh. I didn't even notice that arrow. That kills too much other stuff that I use. I just wanted the wiggling gone.
Same here. I use all the stuff that the arrow hides except for the "Announcement / Forum Message"area. It is very difficult to read & write with the page moving up and down. The worst part is trying to click on a link or something. You move the mouse over the link and the link moves out from under the mouse. Can all the messages be shortened to one line? Can the timing be changed so it doesn't happen as often?
Other than that, Great Job! and thanks for all your efforts.
I've fixed the 'flutter' of the forum display by fixing the size of the news area to 3em (3x the height of the text in the container). Now it stays in place and the forum display doesn't twitch down with two line news items
I'm still working on having a profile field (Show scrolling news) enable the scroller or a static display of one news item. I should have that done today. Meanwhile, turning off JavaScript for the forum will kill the news display (and some other styling too, I think) or collapsing the header using the caret next to the weather images at the top of the page will avoid the scroller for now.
Have to say that I'm not finding this as easy and quick to use at a glance as previously. This is just a styling thing I'm sure, but it's things like the text (in the forum and post listings I mean, not the individual posts) seems more compacted or compressed somehow, which forums have new posts is not quite as easy to spot at a glance and I'm not sure that the dull red colour of the forum titles gives as much easy-to-read contrast as the old styling.
I agree.. I've bumped up the size default so it should be more readable now.
Best regards,
Ken
