Ken,

I've noticed when viewing other members profile (even my own) there is no website URL to be linked to the members weather site if they don't have a signature. Just thought I would throw that out there. No biggie. Again great job on the forum. Personally I think it looks fantastic.

There is a website icon on the left side underneath the avatar that shows the URL with mouse-over and links to the member's website!

Yes I know. But I thought they had a URL in the members profile on the other board.

For me the icon does show in the member's profile page.  I can get to your site from your profile page as well as from the main board.  Am I misunderstanding your question?

Previously, there was a way to say "do not show me this board".  The selections that I had made to customize what I see, seem to have vanished from my profile.

OK, stuff happens, but how do I re-do that customization?  I think I looked through everything in Profile (but I probably missed it), and I tried going through "Help" with no success.

Thanks.
The Ignore Boards feature is built-in (somewhere) inside of SMF2, and unfortunately the 'Hide Ignored Boards' MOD wouldn't install (version issue).  I'll work on getting this feature back...

The little world icon always had the link to the members website (if they'd put one in the profile), and this was true on the SMF1.1.19 board too.  I'll see if there's a setting to enable display of that in the profiles again.  The data is still there :)

I'm still working some minor issues that are impacting the error logs .. just about got that wrapped up.

Best regards,
Ken

I agree with Ryan, I don't see yours or anyone else's webpage URL in their profile. I do see it on my profile but it's down in the innards of the profile settings screen which only the user can see. Other than the globe, I don't know of any other way to view a users webpage URL.

I see that as well. We are talking about a spelled out URL hyperlink on the right under location.

I'll add it to the list :)

Ken the site looks awesome and you did it so quickly - Bravo!

BTW did I loose a couple hundred posts - probably due to pruning? Or maybe it's me that is getting old....

Randall,

As far as I know, all posts were preserved -- we don't do any pruning of old (or any other posts).

Your count shows as  912 on the forum.  From the backup, the count on the old forum was 903.

My old count was 4068 and is now 4083 so I think my stuff was preserved too :)

I'd not asked (nor was offered) any option to recount the post statistics with the update.

Best regards,
Ken

Have to say that I'm not finding this as easy and quick to use at a glance as previously. This is just a styling thing I'm sure, but it's things like the text (in the forum and post listings I mean, not the individual posts) seems more compacted or compressed somehow, which forums have new posts is not quite as easy to spot at a glance and I'm not sure that the dull red colour of the forum titles gives as much easy-to-read contrast as the old styling.

You can collapse the header and the stuff will vanish .. that's likely what you did :)

Nuh-Uh.  I didn't even notice that arrow.  That kills too much other stuff that I use.  I just wanted the wiggling gone.
Same here. I use all the stuff that the arrow hides except for the "Announcement / Forum Message"area. It is very difficult to read & write with the page moving up and down. The worst part is trying to click on a link or something. You move the mouse over the link and the link moves out from under the mouse. Can all the messages be shortened to one line? Can the timing be changed so it doesn't happen as often?

Other than that, Great Job! and thanks for all your efforts.

Ken, very sorry about my misinformation.  I must have been thinking about a different forum's count.
I hope I didn't put you through too much verifying the count.

On the plus side the new interaction with tapatalk is very nice.

Again thank you for your time and consideration!

Yes, I've enabled the Spider tracking in the forum so they now show up in the Users Online list.  Nice to see the Google/Yahoo!/MSN indexing taking place -- that's why our forum can be found so easily via their searches.

I've fixed the 'flutter' of the forum display by fixing the size of the news area to 3em (3x the height of the text in the container).  Now it stays in place and the forum display doesn't twitch down with two line news items :)
I'm still working on having a profile field (Show scrolling news) enable the scroller or a static display of one news item.  I should have that done today.  Meanwhile, turning off JavaScript for the forum will kill the news display (and some other styling too, I think) or collapsing the header using the caret next to the weather images at the top of the page will avoid the scroller for now.

Have to say that I'm not finding this as easy and quick to use at a glance as previously. I agree.. I've bumped up the size default so it should be more readable now.

Ken

Hi Rick,
Yes, that was a mod -- unfortunately it was not available for SMF2 version (only for SMF1.x).
I'll keep looking for something like that.. it was popular :)

No problem, Randall!  It was a good idea to check.  I did find that our oldest post (from July 20, 2006, 11:08:36 PM, made by Chris (capeweather) when he established the forum software) was still visible and everything in-between.

Best regards,
