Title: Aerocone heater
Post by: thomas on April 28, 2022, 07:58:32 PM
Added a new aerocone to my system and was wondering if anyone devised a system to apply heat to it in the winter ? I have a Texas Electronics 525 rain gauge that I wrap with a small light bulb inside that normally works well for most of the winter.

I have made a good heater with reptile heater element wrapped inside cone. But not the Aero Cone. I have old style with heater and I will install one in the other straight cone that has the bird spikes on it.

I don't think there would be a lot of success heating the lower portion of an Aero Cone. The upper part would surely fill with ice.

I would think you would have to swap out the cone in the winter. Or cover the areocone
