Is anyone else experiencing problems getting current Metar downloads using Hamweather? My last successful download was 2/24/2020 at 3:53 a.m.
-
What station(s) are you trying to use? All the ones I use are updating.
For quicker response I'd recommend submitting a trouble ticket at PWSweather.com.
-
I am using VWS. I remember this happening before and you made a script change which fixed the problem.
-
But what station(s) are you trying to get data for? The ones I use are all working through the HAMweather metar mirror.
-
I'm sorry, KSNA, KLGB, KL35, and KEED.

Data is available for all of those stations. I'd recommend you submit a support request so the admins can search deeper about possible issues. You also might want to try getting to these URLs from a browser on the computer running VWS in case it shows any error messages.

I can see the reports in the browser on the computer running VWS. I tried downloading the Metars on a backup computer using VWS and I get the same problem. Could my IP address be blocked for some reason? I did submit a ticket on PWS.

If you can get to the reports using a browser on the same computer that's running VWS then your IP isn't blocked. I haven't used VWS in over a decade so I can't remember if it has an error log. That might show something. And, if you haven't already, you might try rebooting and restarting VWS.

All the metars are updating now. Thank you!
-
... And what fixed the problem? The reboot?
-
No. I had rebooted as soon as the problem first occurred. I also had performed an ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew as this had fixed the problem in the past since one of my computers reported an IP conflict issue. It turned out to be a problem with the Hamweather data server. These are the replies I received on the support ticket I submitted:
>>In digging a little deeper I have found the data is not updating on the server providing the data. So you're successfully retrieving data but the data is not being updated properly. I'll look into it and let you know.<<
>>METAR data is now updating normally again. Let me know if you still see an issue.<<
