apart from the fact that the GW1100 IS not a ESP8226 but HAS a ESP8226 on its PCB, you are unlikely to find someone here to help you in your tinkering attempts. This is not so much of a low level hardware forum here, but more average user oriented.
If you still find someone here, you are lucky.

And if you figure out how to do this, feel free to share the approach, best with a few pictures, here.

The gw1100 is an esp8266, if I find how to connect the cables I can program it like any other esp.
I think

before going down that road - did you go through all the options shown in the How to connect to WiFi thread https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=41575.0 respectively the WiKi http://meshka.eu/Ecowitt/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=start#how_to_connect_pair_your_console_gateway_to_your_router
I can't see the WiFi of gw1100.
I think the gw1100 have some problem, because this I'm interested to load firmware by wires

Best regards
are you aware of what you say ?
have you even made yourself familiar with the device - use the WiKi !! http://meshka.eu/Ecowitt/dokuwiki
the GW1100 is a WiFi only device - there is no such thing like loading firmware "by wires"

When the WLAN of the GW1100 (it's access point has the SSID GW1100x-WFInnn) respectively its SSID is not visible, you have to factory reset the piece. Look up and study the GW1100 and firmware sections in the WiKi

How will you use it in the first place if it is not WiFi connected ?

When it is connected it has an IP and the WebUi can be accessed via a web browser. The router will know its IP.
Without a WiFi connection it cannot post to the local network or internet - you cannot reach it via browser nor app.
And cannot get its firmware updated either.

This new f/w has the WS85 but nowhere can I find the updated documentation with the details for this device. It's about time Ecowitt made the updates available on a timely basis so things like CumulusMX do not throw errors on the new f/w because of missing information. Does anyone have the updated documentation yet? This also affects the GW1200 and its new f/w.

yep, could .... should ....

Rainwise Weather Stations / Rainwise.net migration to Ambient Weather

 email received 4/27/2024

Dear Rainwise Customer,
We are dedicated to continuously improving your experience. We are pleased to inform you of an upcoming enhancement to our service. We will be transitioning from Rainwise.net to the Ambient Weather Network (AWN), a move designed to offer you a more robust and feature-rich platform for viewing and managing your weather station data.
What's New?
The Ambient Weather Network introduces several exciting features to enrich your interaction with weather data:
•   Multi-Station Map: View data from multiple stations on a single screen.
•   Color-Coded Map Icons: Enjoy improved visual clarity with color-coded displays.
•   Frequent Data Updates: Receive updates every 5 minutes for the most current weather information.
•   Extended Weather Forecasting: Access detailed weather forecasts to plan better.
•   Enhanced Alerts: Get notifications through the app and email alerts.
•   Customizable Graphs: Personalize your data display with customizable graphs (coming soon).
Important Information & Changes
Live & Historical Data is Available Now on AWN
Once you register an account on AWN and link your station using its MAC address, you will gain access to both live data and up to one year of historical data.
Login Information
Your email login will remain the same, but we recommend resetting your password for enhanced security.
Alert Notification Setup
You will need to configure your alerts on AWN, as previous settings from Rainwise.net will not be transferred.
Alert Notification Distribution List Changes
Previously on Rainwise.net, users could set up alert distribution lists from one main account. However, AWN requires each user to create an individual account to set up alerts for their chosen public station.

This service is provided at no additional cost. There is no limit to the number of users who can set up alerts. Each account is allocated 10 text alerts per day, which applies to the account as a whole, not per weather station. This means you may receive more alerts overall for the same station under this new system.
Transition Timeline
This update will fully take effect in August 2024, but we encourage you to register on AWN now to start enjoying these new features.
We are here to support you through this transition and will keep you informed with regular updates. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
View the online dashboard AmbientWeather.net.
Thank you for choosing us as your trusted partner in weather monitoring.
Please reply to this email with questions about this notice and we will respond.

Thank you,

Heh, good luck mate!
The cockatoos nibbled off the auxiliary power cable to my WH-90 within 24 hours of installation. Fortunately I’ve found no need for it as frost isn’t a common issue in my corner of Queensland, but it was illuminating to see how quickly they identified that cable as a somewhat expensive bird enrichment toy. They’ve started work on chewing the silicon band around the top of the WH-90, unsure if this is likely to cause me problems or not.
They regularly but infrequently land inside the WH-40, casually ignoring the 2nd-generation spikes I have artfully arranged, and the buggers carefully pick out the anti-bird spikes one by one, thoughtfully throwing them on the ground nearby in what can only be described as gleeful chaotic neutral behaviour with an added touch of irony. Zero bird poo issues so far though.
I’ve decided to see the whole thing as a mildly amusing battle of wits where the birds are winning, most of the time.
Our local magpie family? Not interested in either piece of weather kit, no food involved, although keeping them out of the house is as futile as keeping the cockatoos out of the rain sensor

Thankyou
