VP2 Daylight Time problem
« on: April 04, 2020, 09:09:17 AM »
This has to be something simple, but I cannot find the fix for it.

My VP2 will not display daylight time. It remains fixed on standard. I have made the change three times according to directions in the manual. Stays on daylight for an hour or more, then changes back to standard.

How do I fix the display so that it automatically makes the change in spring and fall? Or is this beyond what it can do?

How do I fix the problem for this year?

Thanks

There are three requirements:

- Set your time zone: Central
- Set the Daylight Saving: Auto
- Set the clock

Pages 14 -16 of user manual:

If I do this, will it necessitate having to enter all the data over again like I was just setting up my station? I sure wouldn't want to do that just for an hour time difference. Never had this problem before.

If you have the Davis Weatherlink program it is very simple -
Set up - Set time & date

If you did not buy a copy of Weatherlink with your station, it is now a free download. There are several links to it listed here in the Davis section of this forum.

It is OLD software and gets a lot of bad press because of the dated look, but it is very FUNCTIONAL and has a lot of nice features and reports.

Thanks

I tried this once before, working from the WeatherLink side;  and the time did not stay on Daylight, but switched back to Standard.

I have the boxes checked beside "Daylight Saving" Auto. Should both be checked? Maybe this is the problem?

See Attached below: This is what I have done just now. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Such a simple thing to give me trouble. Thanks again

I just checked my WFL setup.  I have both checkboxes checked.

Thanks
 That might do it

I will assume that I either uncheck a box/es sometime or some bit of undigested beef or a crust of moldy bread was eaten by the VP2 when I wasn't looking.
