Title: Connecting Ambientweather ws-2902 to ecowitt.net
Post by: Shvedi on July 13, 2019, 05:20:26 AM
Hi,
I'm enjoying ws-2902 (without A) for more then a year and a half now. During that time I managed to publish my weather data through ambienweather.net, pwsweather.com and weathercloud.net.
Now I'm trying to connect my device to ecowitt.net. I've entered the MAC id but I can see no data, and it says that my station is offline.
Do I have to have the Ecowitt GW1000 to be able to connect to ecowitt.net, or I'm missing somthing else?

Yes you need an Ecowitt GW1000 or any other Ecowitt console to be able to upload to Ecowitt.net. But the GW1000 would be the best option because it is the only one with an API that you'll soon be able to use with several 3rd party software for even more fun. Although all the Ecowitt consoles seem to now also support a "Customized" server option to also send data via this other method.

Thank's, galfert, for the fast reply   =D>. Maybe I'll get the Ecowitt GW1000, also for the ability to add more sensors.

WS-2902 looks like Conrad EFWS2900 and Ecowitt WH2910C that can send data to ecowitt.net.
Do you have a new version of the WSView application?
Do you have new firmware for WS-2902?

I have a WS-2902A and I have the latest version of WS View and it sees the WS-2902A console. But when you select it to configure it the only option is to send to Ambientweather.net, WU, and WeatherCloud. There isn't even the "Customized" server option. I also have the latest firmware on it 1.4.7. There is no way to change firmware to another brand these consoles like you can with other consoles like the ObserverIP. On a WS-2000 you might be able to change firmware but I'm not taking that risk of bricking my console.
