ImageSalsa.dll
« on: June 18, 2009, 11:52:35 AM »
I moved VWS and ImageSalsa to another server and now when I try to open an existing canvas or try to make a new canvas, I receive an error relating to ImageSalsa.dll can not be found.

I video feed inside of ImageSalsa is working fine

The server software is Windows Server 2003

Two simple questions:

1)  Did you install the program or just copy it over?
2)  Did you perform a search for the file?  If so, did you find it?

It was a fresh install, then I copied over the profile and the canvas only.

Yes, the ImageSalsa.dll is in the system32 folder

Got me.  I assume you were running Windows Server 2003 on the other machine and have tried reinstalling IS.

Have you tried einstalling and not copying over the files?  You could just make a new, simple canvas to test it.  OR, maybe you have tried this already.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.  I have had very few issues with IS and know nothing about Server 2003.

I have removed IS and reinstalled it....and tried I new profile and then a new canvas, you can name the canvas but, as soon as it trys to launch, you get the same error....I like you have never really had any problems with IS, so this was a shock when it happen

Hi,
Please try placing the imagesalsa.dll in the c:\program files\imagesalsa folder
Also, make sure the program is launching in the same folder -- right click the icon or startup folder shortcut and verify the "start in" path as c:\program files\imagesalsa

I have already tried copying the ImageSalsa.dll in to the IS folder, I placeed in C:, in the Windows folder....I even tried a fresh install on another windows 2003 server, all with the same error....not for sure if it has anything to do with the last microsoft update or not....the original windows 2003 server has not had the last updates ran and it still works, the other two has had the update ran and those do not

When I was using a wireless webcam I would occasionally get very frustrating and misleading errors in IS.  I finally learned to sort the ImageSalsa directory in Windows Explorer by date, most recent first.  I would then delete all of the obviously recent data files and IS would happily run once again.  I recall that a corrupt data file will render IS inoperative.  Since I switched to a wired webcam last fall I haven't had a single such problem.  Don't delete any initialization files, just one, two, or possibly three *.csv, *.tmp, or *.bin files.

Try it.  You don't have much to lose at this point.
