weewx / WH1080 / strong rain

Question , is there a way known that in case of strong rainfall the RPI / WH1080 tries to connect back to the outdoor unit ?

My Problem is that if we have strong rainfall 99% of the time the connection gets lost and no datas are transfered to the Indoor Unit..

I need to reboot the Unit an the RPI to get back to normal operations ..

Any hints are welcome !!
