Sebect Free Timelapse
« on: October 28, 2012, 10:59:53 PM »
Anyone know what happened to the free version? My system with the camera control and the timelapse software crashed and I am trying to rebuild. Unfortunately I cannot find the timelapse only version on the SebecTec website.

Todd,
I don't know that there ever was a free time lapse only version.  There has always been a 30 day trial version.  He has dropped the price for the complete package to $49 from $79.  He has an IP cam version that works with a lot of cams.  i run 3 webcams for our company with this package and it's solid as a brick.  He also has a dedicated package for an Olympus SP500 digital cam.  I use the SP500 package for my personal site and love it.  For 49 bucks it's a bargain.

He had listed a version of the same software but it only did the timelapse function. I already have software for my camera, just need the timelapse software. I knew I should have kept a copy somewhere...

Ok, anyone have the free timelapse only version 3.2.3 hanging around? I really hate to spring for the software since I won't be using the biggest portion of it (camera) but will if I have to. Unless someone has a better timelapse creating solution...

I just use Weather Display to create my time lapse.

I would but it seems that with my camera setup it wouldn't work. I am open to suggestions as to how to configure it for the images my software creates though.

What do you have for a camera Todd? I've used WD for my all the cameras, either wired
and now IP for over 6 years now.

Using an Olympus C-765 right now, WD cannot be used for these types of cameras, only software like VM95 or Sebectec can control digital cameras (Canon has software too).

if the software that comes with it, can create a statif file name
then you can set WD to use that as the source for the time stamped files for the movie creation

I looked at the WD stuff and the file names have to be some incremented name like image1.jpg, etc. VM95 creates them with something like Q7809871.jpg which does not seem to be what WD needs.

I don't claim to fully understand how to create the movie using WD so I could be wrong.

if the file name does not change, then you can set to use that

I would thought that the web cam capture software you are using could be set to create a static file name at least
