I've enjoyed reading the forums and decided to register today after searching the forums and not seeing an answer to my question. Looking for a stand alone (not part of a weather system and displays temp and humidity only) fan aspirated outdoor temperature and humidity sensor. Prefer two way with indoor display but open to outdoor display only.

We live in Southern California and our outdoor temps can read very high during the day even when placed in shaded areas. Looking for something we can buy or make by doing a simple build if it doesn't exist. The goal is to get accurate temp reading on hot sunny days by using a fan aspirated outdoor temp sensor. Something like the temperature/ humidity sensor with 24-hour fan-aspirated radiation shield some of the Vantage Pro2's come with. Not looking for a weather station at this time just want to get temp and humidity for now since the Vantage Pro2 with Fan 6153 and Vantage Pro2 Plus with Fan 6163 are more than what we want right now and the  Vantage VueŽ Wireless Weather Station 6250 might inflate day temps without a fan.

Budgets is $100 to $150.
That'll be difficult without buying something "less" than what you're after. Not only are you seeking a fan aspirated radiation shield, the temp/hydro sensor, you'll need a compatible transmitter (unless you want a wired setup, even still, tough with that budget), and something to display the data. Maybe something used off E-bay... or build your own which is time and knowledge of what you're doing.

Unless you roll your own using a Raspberry Pi (Zero) you won't find anything in your price range.  However it would be very easy to assemble the kit with 24 hr aspiration for $150
